Well it looks like I'm back and around DA. A short synopsis of what's happened since I've been gone:
> I graduate College in 2013 with a Bachelors in Computer Info Systems and a minor in Business and Web Administration.
> I'm currently working on enrolling in an MBA program, it will take me a year to complete.
> I finally have a portfolio up: [link]
> I'm training to be a Unix Sysadmin and I'm currently seeking work in California
Either way, I'll see if I can bust out gimp and get a few paintings done some time soon.
I don't own a computer that has windows on it anymore, I've gone completely Linux(Ubuntu/Fedora) and OpenBSD so I've been tweaking with Gimp instead of forking over absurd amounts of money for new Photoshop suites. Piracy is not an option in this case. As I now know a substantial amount of programming I can build extensions as I wish to Gimp to get it to behave.
An artist is an artist and can make brilliant art whether they're handed crayolas or prismacolors. Tools only serve as an excuse and a handicap in most cases, very rarely anymore do I see them used as an extension.
